Cafe Monet Parker Colorado review

Country French and Italian Cuisine, hidden away in Parker Colorado!

Caleb’s Rating:

Sometimes, you can easily miss the best restaurants if you blink.  That’s certainly the case of Cafe Monet, located at 10471 S Parker Rd, Parker, CO 80134.  It’s located in the strip mall that houses Chokecherry Liquors, Domino’s Pizza and Johnny’s Asian Bistro off of Parker Road and Plaza drive.  Tucked into a corner you’ll find a really awesome country French and Italian spot.

I haven’t been here in many years but I was driving by and thought to myself, why not.  I was not disappointed!  Upon entering the unassuming exterior, it’s like you’ve entered a little part of France. Light piano music was playing and the atmosphere was very calm and welcoming.  There’s a full bar area that was closed off for the lunch hour, so I waltzed into the dining area.  Dozens of bottles of French wines border the dining booths, and I took a seat.

The server was extremely friendly and attentive, letting me know the specials of the day.  A fresh, hot baguette was served immediately after.  The lunch menu had all sorts of scrumptious sounding French and Italian dishes, including veal and fish selections.  I would love to come back at a later date and enjoy some of the appetizers, but for today I just grabbed lunch.  This place wants you to really relax and enjoy your meal at a European pace – although they do have a power lunch menu on their website.  So, this is a great spot for a leisurely meal.   All of the lunch items included soup du jour and a salad with your choice of dressing.  Today’s soup was a cup of Lemon chicken – delicious!

I ended up choosing the sirloin steak, which was served with glazed carrots and rice.  It was fantastic and I walked out with a bill under 12 dollars for a full three course meal (lunch prices).   This is definitely more of a refined atmosphere – most of the diners while I were there were either meeting old friends, business acquaintances, or quietly reading and enjoying a glass of wine with their lunch.  That said, I am not sure this would be the best place to dine with children – save it for a romantic date or a special occasion with your adult friends.  As I mentioned above, this is a European dining experience so if you’re in a rush, chill out!  I spent roughly an hour there enjoying my meal.  A a hidden gem since 1996 – If you live in Parker Colorado you have to give it a try!
