A tour of Mainstreet Parker Colorado
Today I want to talk about our little walk around Main Street in Parker Colorado. These pictures are from New Year’s Day 2016 and Main Street was pretty dead at that time because, being New Year’s day, nothing was open. But it made for a great photography day and I thought it would be cool to to create a little directory of all the shops and stores on Main Street.
Surprisingly, there are a lot more shops on Main Street then I’d initially expected so that’s why this blog post hasn’t come out until the 20th of January! Main Street has definitely gone through a lot of improvements as far as the quality and quantity of buildings and stories that. The main strip of town what I love about main street is that they incorporated some of the old buildings and made new buildings that fit into that Victorian feel.
So we begin by parking over in O’Brien park and taking a walk over to the gazebo. The Christmas decorations around Parker some of the best I’ve seen in any small town. There are on every light post as well as pretty stunning Christmas tree lighting on the trees and on the buildings so my hat’s off to Parker Parks and Rec or whoever does the decorations – because you guys did a fantastic job this winter!!
The closest set of shops near O’Brian Park are in the 20 mile central building, which includes a wide variety of professional offices and retail / dining. Some of my personal favorites include Las Delicias IV Mexican Restaurant & FIKA coffee house. Here’s a full list:
Retail & Dining:
Across the street from the 20 mile house resides two of Mainstreet’s most popular spots, the Tailgate Tavern & the Parker Garage. If you’re looking for a good bar, the Tailgate Tavern is likely your best bet in Parker. They have excellent food specials (you’ll see me there on Mondays for $5 burger night!!) as well as live music, poker tournaments, and other booze-infused fun.
The Parker Garage, formerly known as the Warhorse Inn, provides fine dining with local ingredients – including raising their own livestock (even bees!) and a large chef’s garden on their partner farm in Elizabeth. I haven’t actually made it into the Garage for a meal yet, but when I do expect a review!
Just to the west of the Parker garage lies the older building of 19402 Mainstreet, which houses Kuka Sales Group, Poor Richard’s Book shoppe, & Fusion Botanicals among other professional offices.
If you continue along mainstreet to the East, you will find the largest building on the strip, known as the Parker Station building. the south face of Parker station features a variety of shops and restaurants (individual reviews coming soon!):

If you continue down Pikes Peak Drive you enter into what I always called the “Victorian quarter” and by the design of the houses and offices, you’ll know what I mean. On this street you can find St Matthew’s Episcopal Church, Cottage Veterinary Hospital, Monograms by K&K, & Larry J. O’Neill DMD PC on the west side of the street. The east side of the street houses the massive Victorian Peaks building.
That about covers the independent shop areas of Mainstreet – although there is a large anchor strip mall that includes Goodwill, Hall Brewing company & more. Expect even more in depth reviews and thoughts on Mainstreet Parker Colorado in the future!
