Boondocks Food and Fun Parker Colorado
Caleb’s Rating:
Curiosity got the better of me this chilly Friday morning – so I decided to swing by the newly opened Boondocks Food and Fun center in Parker Colorado. It’s located off Parker road and Cottonwood drive on the north side of Parker, near Costco and the also newly opened Gander Mountain. I just wandered in to see what was going on and snap a few pictures.
It appears to me that this place had a soft opening, and while it was pretty empty due to it being so early in the morning, it still looks like they are getting a lot of the attractions on line. There’s a full arcade that appear to use swipe cards similar to Dave and Buster’s. (Remember the days of tokens??) A full restaurant and bar are also present and a bowling alley – which was the part I am most excited about. We haven’t had a bowling alley in decades in Parker. The old one is actually the building on main street where the library just moved out of (fun fact!)
I didn’t stick around long enough to play any games or do a round of bowling so I won’t leave a full review just yet. The building is huge and it looked like there was a large event room for birthday parties and the like. Definitely a nice looking facility. I took a quick peak outside and saw workers laboring away on a go kart track – nice! I believe there’s also a mini golf course. They had a pretty good sounding deal for Tuesdays and Thursdays, where $12 will get you unlimited laser tag, rollerball, bowling and video games. This place definitely had more of a kid – centered feeling to it than say Dave and Buster’s in Denver, which is more of an ‘adult’ arcade. From my initial reaction, I am sure this will be a great place to take the kids once it’s fully operational. For now, I’ll hold off on an official review of Boondocks Food and Fun center.
*UPDATE* I ended up going bowling here on a Tuesday for a low key celebration of my birthday. we took advantage of the 12 dollar Tuesday Thursday unlimited deal – and it was a great time! It’s not very busy before 3 pm and we practically had the place to ourselves. A friendly server catered to us while we bowled and I enjoyed a nice cold stout and some chips and guacemole. Heck, at this price I might afford to get good at bowling! We also took advantage of the arcade and played a round of laser tag. A good way to spend a birthday for sure!
