Downhill Brewing Company Parker Colorado
Sometimes you just need a beer. That was my thought earlier this week after I dropped off a few pieces of mail at the Parker post office. On my way back home I thought I should stop in to what was formerly Elk Mountain Brewing Company and check out some of the changes that have happened here. Out with the old and in with the new! Elk Mountain is currently undergoing a rebranding and will be known in the future as Downhill Brewing Company. They’re located in the same spot as the old Elk Mountain brewery off of Plaza road in Parker, but it looked like they were undergoing a lot of exciting changes.
I waltzed into the brewery which was just opening up and got a few tasters of IPAs in order to figure out what kind of growler I wanted to take home. The bartender Jonathan was super friendly and let me know about all the changes taking place. Most notably, Downhill Brewing Company is currently in the midst of installing a brand new pizza kitchen within the brewery, which will feature craft pizzas to go along with the craft beers they serve. There were plenty of choices on the beer menu as well – and the illustrations on the chalkboard menu were fantastic to say the least.
I ended up choosing to fill my growler up with the Last Caress Imperial IPA, which is a strong but easy to drink brew. I’ll definitely be stopping by Downhill Brewing Company again soon especially once the pizza kitchen opens up to try out some more of their beers. They offer beer in 4 oz /8 oz / 16 oz servings , growlers or flights of six 4 oz tasters.

Saturday Nut Fever
Peanut butter brown ale , 5.3% ABV 25 IBU

Case of the Mondays
Coffee Milk Stout, 5.3% ABV 25 IBU
A smooth stout brewed with local Corvus Coffee’s Dead reckoning espresso blend (Guatemala & Ethiopian beans) and real milk sugars. “I believe you have my stapler”
Would or Wouldn’t IPA
IPA 6.4 ABV 87 IBU
Would you or wouldn’t you? This beer balances Simcoe and Equanot hops with five different varieties of malt to make this the perfect summer IPA. Hop Heads rejoice!
Last Caress
Imperial IPA 8.2% ABV, 85 IBU
Let this heavy hitter hold you in its warm embrace. Experimental hops, Centennial, Amarillo, and Falconer’s flight are the hops responsible for this Tomfoolery. “Sweet lady death, I am waiting for your breath”
Collision Kölsch
Kölsch 4.5% ABV 14 IBU
Our award winning Kölsch is light and delicious. Using all German ingredients this beer is clean, crisp and refreshing.
Team America
Fruit Saison 5.8% ABV 20 IBU
Brewed specially for our great country’s Independence Day, this batch of our saison was blended with strawberries and blueberries to rock the flavors of the red white and blue. Cheers for the land of the free and the home of the brave!
Party Panda

Good Tempo
American Pale ale 5.4% ABV, 45 IBU
A single malt, light colored ale with a perfectly hoppy balance. Simcoe and Zythos hops blend to showcase the bitterness, while pilsner malt offers the refreshing maltiness to make this patio pounder.
Aprés Amber
American Amber 6.2% ABV 30 IBU
Rounded by a malty backdrop of caramel and biscuit notes, this ale opens up with hints of toasty bitterness and finishes with a slight sweetness.
