Parker Colorado Trails and Parks Information
One of the great things about Parker Colorado is it offers a wide variety of trails for walking or biking with your family.
Most of the trail system in Parker Colorado follows along cherry creek, which feeds from Cherry Creek reservoir and state park to the north. At the northern most end of the trail system lies 17 Mile House Farm Park, which is technically still in Arapahoe county. This park features the 150 year old farm property which was a resting area for weary travelers aboard the Cherokee and Smokey Hill wagon trails in the 1860’s. Historic buildings including a farmhouse, barn and silo are restored to their early 1900’s condition, making a very cute historic landmark for a picnic or photography shoot.
The next closest park is Cottonwood Park, which has a large circular trail that crosses over Cherry Creek at the northern & southern edges. The park includes baseball fields, roller hockey rinks , and plenty of great views for an afternoon stroll.
I will be doing individual reviews on each one of Parker Colorado’s numerous parks and trials in the coming months! Stay tuned for more information.
